LOS GUÍOS AND LA ARENA BEACHES: EUROPEAN LEADERS IN EXCELLENCE

Los Guíos Beach and La Arena Beach have once again been awarded the Q Flag for Tourism Quality, a recognition that highlights excellence in services, safety and visitor care.

In the Canary Islands, only three beaches have this distinction, and two of them are located in Santiago del Teide. This achievement transcends borders, and is further enhanced by the fact that they are the only ones in Europe to combine the Q Flag for Tourism Quality with the EMAS environmental management system and ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications, a set of accreditations that confirms their exemplary and environmentally friendly management.

What does it mean to have the Q Flag for Tourism Quality?

This recognition is granted after passing external audits that guarantee compliance with demanding international standards. These include cleaning and waste management, safety and rescue, tourist information and accessibility to the bathing area, among others.

With this distinction, Santiago del Teide reaffirms its commitment to caring for and conserving its beaches, offering residents and visitors a natural environment of internationally recognised quality.

Quality, sustainability and accessibility

Los Guíos Beach and La Arena Beach stand out not only for the quality of their services and responsible management of their resources, but also for their commitment to sustainability and accessibility. Both have ramps, walkways, adapted showers and amphibious chairs, facilitating access and assisted bathing.
